Have you heard about Farha?
For the first time in history, the horrors of the Palestinian Nakba are told and delivered to western media audience courtesy of Netflix. A story about a 14 year old girl who dreams of an education is lost when the events of the Nakbe fall on the footsteps of her village. Her life and the lives of others forever changed for the worst. Jordanian writer and director, Darin J. Sallam masterfully and accurately displays the hardships of the Palestinians. With the occupation heavy in many of our hearts, it is essential for Palestinians across the world and supporters to continue to tell their stories of their ancestors and roots in Palestine. Whether you come from a long line of farmers harvesting olives, your great grandfather baked fresh khabez (arabic pita bread) in the early mornings for the town, or your family tree starts from the highest hilltops of Jerusalem, our voices must continue to be heard and our media must be seen. The truth is black and white- we are the occupied and the victims of those who were victimized before us. The only course of action is unity. We hope this movie unites more Palestinians and gives non-Palestinians a chance to understand the kind of hardships, dehumanization and turmoil that has been and continues to be faced by Palestinians on a daily basis.
We hope you support the film and watch it on Netflix today!
